The Basque Country is a unique paradise, whose charm attracts hundreds of visitors every year, but apart from Ibarrangelu, where our Surf Camp is located, there are many neighbouring towns that we invite you to visit so that you end up as in love as we are.
WHAT TO SEE IN IBARRANGELU
The first destination is Ibarrangelu and the route to San Pedro de Atxarre, where you will be able to enjoy an impressive panoramic view of Urdaibai, and the route to the well-known wild beaches of Laga and Laida.
Just 3 kilometres away you will find Elantxobe, a beautiful fishing village on the slopes of Ogoño, which has another route to the well-known Ogoño cape where you will find a beautiful view of the beach of Laga.
Just a few kilometres away is the town of Gernika, where you will find the House of Assembly and the Tree of Gernika: the parliament of Bizkaia since the Middle Ages and a symbol of the rights and freedoms of all Basque men and women.
Another must-see destination that attracts hundreds of surfers every year is Mundaka and its left wave: an international surfing reference, fishing and fishing village, where from the port you will have an unbeatable view of the wave.
San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is an unmissable place to visit. It is worth mentioning all the myths, legends and traditions that surround this marvel of nature, which is a protected biotope, and which has recently been chosen as a location for filming some of the scenes in the well-known series Game of Thrones.

There is also the Oma Forest, a work of art created by the sculptor and painter Agustín Ibarrola, which can be classified as part of the contemporary Land Art trend, as well as the Santimamiñe cave, an icon of Biscayan culture and its main prehistoric site.
A visit to the Urdaibai Bird Centre, the exceptional bird observatory located in the middle of the marshes in Gautegiz de Arteaga, a municipality where it is also possible to visit Arteaga Castle, is a must.
In addition to Bermeo, with its port and Old Town, one of the most important fishing villages in the Basque Country. Beautiful Puerto Viejo where you can see the fishing fleet and taste pintxos in the local restaurants. From Laga Surf Camp we recommend you to go for a walk through its steep old part.
Another interesting destination is the Ekoetxea Urdaibai; the centre was created with the fundamental objective of promoting the dissemination of nature and biodiversity in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, as well as the need to value biodiversity; in other words, to raise awareness of the benefits that biodiversity provides to humans and what we lose with the extinction of species.
Finally, you will find Ea, a coastal town characterised by its town centre and its historical heritage.
