Laga Surf Camp was opened/ started in 2009 with the illusion of two people (Naiara and Gorka) to undertake a new project and start a new life whose meaning is surfing, and offer this life experience to others.
The chosen location is in Ibarrangelu (Bizkaia) where we can find two of the best beaches in the Basque Country both in terms of beauty and being a privileged place to be within the biosphere reserve of Urdaibai.
Over these years we have been part of the good practices programme promoted by the Basque Government through Urremendi and have been granted the Basque Government’s QUALITY label.
We also belong to the group of businessof the Surfing Euskadi product club promoted by Basquetour, Tourism Agency of the Basque Government.

Nothing makes sense at Laga Surf Camp without valuing the team that makes it up. It is of vital importance that all the professionals working at Laga Surf Camp feel it as their own project and develop their work with the same enthusiasm and motivation as we do.
All our instructors are qualified and specialised in surfing, with years of experience in the sector, not only in teaching but also as a way of life.
We have fun with what we do and most importantly we enjoy when people enjoy themselves. Our priority is to offer surfing activities in which you get a high-quality experience, always prioritizing safety in all of them.
Laga Surf Camp has enriched us as people, we have met people who have come from all over the world, we have made friends from near and far who have encouraged us to continue with our project and have helped us along the way. For us it is a pleasure to feel how much they enjoy us and for that we thank them for visiting us every year.
As abusiness we have been growing by extending our facilities with a fully equipped and very comfortable Hostel in the village of Ibarrangelu, providing services to a higher number of visitors and we have also settled on the beach of Laida/Mundaka, creating our second Surf School.
The Laga Surf School, with a cabin identified as LAGA SURF CAMP ESKOLA, located in the parking of Laga beach, a perfect spot for surfing. It is a beautiful dune beach located in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, next to Cape Ogoño.

From June to September the Laga Surf School is open every day from 10am to 8pm.
The opening hours are exclusively during the course timetable, otherwise the surf school is open in the farmhouse, always trying to offer the best service.
The Laida-Mundaka Surf School is located on Laida Beach, on the coast of Bizkaia (Basque Country), a perfect spot for surfing for beginners (Laida) and experts (Mundaka, considered one of the 10 best waves in the world).
The wave at Mundaka Beach has become a reference point for surfers all over the world, as it is classified as “the best left-hand wave in the world”. Not in vain, it has the category of “surf reserve” and every year the World Surfing Championship takes place there.
