Surf Camp for teens between 10 and 17 years old. In our own Surf Hostel in the village of Ibarrangelu (Bizkaia, Basque Country).

OUR MAIN ACTIVITY IS SURFING

Although our main activity is surfing, we dedicate most of our time to surfing courses 4 hours a day divided into 2 parts.
2 hours of course plus 2 hours of supervised surfing.
Our students are always accompanied by instructors and with the utmost safety in the sea.

Dates

  • Camp 1: From June 29th to July 6th
  • Camp 2: From July 6th to July 13th
  • Camp 3: From July 13th to July 20th

Surf Camp for 10 to 17 years old.

Check-in and departures

Check-in will be on the day the surf camp starts at 18:30 pm at the hostel.

Departures will be on the day according to the contracted day at 15:30 at the same hostel.

Facilities

We have a Surf Hostel in the village of Ibarrangelu, 3 km from the LagaBeach and 7 km from the Laida/Mundaka Beach.

The Laga Surf Camp Hostel has 3 equipped floors, ground floor with lounge-kitchen-dining room and 2nd and 3rd floors with multiple rooms with bunk beds and shared and private bathrooms, terrace, garden, play area…

Each bed has a mattress, pillow, bed linen and a blanket. Each bunk bed also has a locker associated with it to store the personal belongings of each guest.

PADDLE-SURF

This activity consists of a paddle surfing excursion from the beach of Laga to the cape of Ogoño. For this we have a paddle surf for each young person. As in the surfing activity they are always guided by instructors and with all the safety measures.

SKATE

This activity takes place at least 3 days a week.
We have different skateboards, such as street skate, surf skates …there is enough material for all the students.
We prioritise the use of the surf skate as it is a very useful tool for improving surfing technique. We do circuits and free skate.

Yoga

Yoga is an activity that we incorporate in the camps, it helps us to improve elasticity, balance and coordination.

It also stretches the muscles after the surfing activity and helps relaxation.

VOLEY-BALL at the BEACH

A team sport, it helps us to have a fun time on the beach, play sports and improve team relationships. It favours communication in the group and among the youngest it is an entertaining sport that triumphs in every surf camp.

excursiones

TRIPS

We take advantage of the fact that we are in the Urdaibai biosphere reserve and that we have some unique mountain routes with beautiful views very close to our accommodation. They are of low difficulty and ideal for incorporating this activity into our camps.

We run the route to Cape Ogoño and the route to San Pedro de Atxarre.

SLACKLINE

Slackline is a balancing sporting activity that involves walking on a flat elastic band,

ELASTICITY: The slackline benefits above all the knee and ankle joints; this highly effective workout also trains the muscles of the abdominals, legs, back and arms.

WORKSHOPS

We carry out different workshops all of them related to the sea, surf…

From artistic… to explanatory workshops that bring us closer to a better knowledge of surfing.

DAY AT THE PORT OF ELANTXOBE

This activity is one of the favourites of all our campers… we went to the port of Elantxobe, a village next to Ibarrangelu and enjoyed a fun afternoon of water and games… one of the most popular days among our kids.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITY

One day of the camp is dedicated to environmental activities. On this day we try to raise awareness and respect for our beaches and the sea.

We start with a small exhibition about the area and an illustrative video and then we collect waste in situ on a nearby beach.

We finish with a sharing of everything we have learnt to raise awareness among young people about the importance of taking care of the beaches.

Security

To join the Surf Camps, you must fill in the registration form together with the corresponding authorisation and the signed conditions of the contract.

Kids/Children do not share a room with other adults during the surf camp, only with their surf camp mates. Only the monitors who will be in charge of the supervision will have access to the bedrooms.

We reserve the right to deny admission if the rules of conduct established by our Surf Camps are not followed.

The kids will be supervised by monitors 24 hours a day and will not be allowed to leave the Surf Camp facilities without prior consent.

For us, safety is the most important thing and for this reason we not only have civil liability and accident insurance for all our activities but our way of working is always focused on safety in everything we do.

Equipment

We have the necessary equipment for surfing, but you can also bring your own equipment.

For the Surf Courses we adapt to the levels of our students, which means that the surf camps are not only for young people of level 0, but also for those who already have a certain level and want to improve, since we separate the groups by levels and with different teachers.

At Laga Surf Camp we provide the necessary equipment (surfboard and wetsuit) and we adapt to the level and the state of the sea to provide the most suitable material for each day. We also allow students to bring their own equipment and if the teacher considers it appropriate, they can use it during the course.

Meals

The meal will be nutritionally varied and balanced, consisting of:

  • A first course: pasta, rice, pulses, soups, salads.
  • A second course: meat or fish.
  • Dessert: fruit, yoghurt, ice-cream…
  • The camp also includes a fruit, a juice or similar and an energy bar at mid-morning and mid-afternoon.

Este verano ven a practicar surf en nuestras escuelas de surf.

La actividad de Surf se realizará tanto en la Escuela de Surf de la playa de Laga como en la Escuela de Surf de la playa de Laida/Mundaka, dependiendo de las condiciones del mar y la marea y  la consideración de los monitores.

En Surf Camp Laga disponemos de instalaciones en ambas playas con todo el material necesario para la práctica del surf.
